Profile: Next year I will be entering my third year at the Haskayne School of Business in the new Energy Management program. I am the founder of the Institute for Sustainable Energy, Environment and Economy Students' Association (ISEEESA) which is currently developing two large scale projects: The First Students World Energy Conference, which will be held here in Calgary in June 2009, as well as The Solar Decathlon Team Alberta.
Over the summer I am completing an internship in New York City as a Equity Research Analyst Intern at Ludlow Energy Ventures. Ludlow Energy Ventures is a venture capital firm focusing specifically on the green and alternative energy sector. On June 28 I will be heading to Madrid, Spain to attend the 19th World Petroleum Congress which is said to be the Olympics of the Oil and Gas sector. As part of the Youth program I was selected as one of two Canadians, and 50 youth delegates world-wide, to attend and participate in the on-goings throughout the week.
The four days at the conference has just flown by. With all the information being provided it’s really hard to take in what an amazing experience this has been.
Today was yet another great day at the conference. The morning session featured the Deputy Minister of Energy and Industry of Qatar, Executive Director of Gas and Power from Royal Dutch Shell and the President of SonaTech.
I don't think the Congress could have started on a better day. All 4000 delegates (minus the crazy spanish soccer fans) attended the opening dinner which was like nothing I've ever seen.

Well I'm here in Frankfurt (yes Frankfurt) as our plane had some troubles today. So we (all 40 of us) ended up missing our connection to come home. Fortunately they have put us up in a very nice hotel and I have luckily having some time to start preparing for school and obligations back home.
