This informative presentation will provide an overview about mobile device technology, data evidence/information areas, and device handling methods as well as a brief overview of the tools that can be used to analyse these devices.
Shafik Punja has been a member of the Calgary Police Service for approximately 12 years. In November 2003, he was assigned to the Electronic Surveillance Unit - Technological Crimes Team. Prior to joining the police service, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy with Distinction. He has also obtained certifications in the areas of information security, computer hardware and software, and networks. In addition, Constable Punja has extensive training in the area of computer forensics. He has been recognized as expert in the area of computer and cell phone forensics in both Provincial and Queens Bench Court.
