Darfur in Crisis: Canada's Role on the Ground

Description

Colonel Ron Allison was the Head of the Canadian Task Force in Darfur supporting the African Union Mission in Sudan, to which Canada is one of the top three international donors.  He returned from Darfur in December 2007 and will discuss the humanitarian and military dimensions of the Darfur crisis, the international response and Canada's role.

This talk is part of 2007/08 “New Challenges in War to Peace Transitions” Seminar Series.  The Peacebuilding, Development and Security Program (PDSP) is a partnership of the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies, University of Calgary and the Institute of World Affairs, Washington, D.C.  This series is made possible with generous funding from the University of Calgary Special Projects Fund and the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies
