In honour of Black History Month, elders from Alberta's Black community will share stories of their pioneer experiences, interspersed with a selection of songs from pioneer descendants on Tuesday, Feb. 26.
One of the speakers is author Chryle Foggo, a descendant of Black pioneers who settled in Alberta and Saskatchewan during the first decade of the twentieth century. She has written extensively about the Black pioneers’ experience in Alberta and beyond.
Other speakers include Alberta Black pioneer descendants Peggy Brown, Lonnie Saunders, Vi Gardener, Pearl Hayes and Pauline Foggo.
Musical guests include Paul Gardener, Craig Hayes, Rochelle Lamoureux and Gloria Goertz.
