Chief Justice Allan Wachowich has shown true pride and commitment in serving the Alberta courts, the legal profession, and the community.  He became a lawyer in 1959 and was in private practice for 15 years before being appointed as a judge over 33 years ago, in December 1974.  He was appointed Associate Chief Justice in 1993 and 8 years later in December 2000 was appointed Chief Justice of the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta.  He is also a deputy judge of the Yukon, North West Territories and Nunavut.  In addition to his duties as Chief Justice, he has a long resume of memberships, chairmanships, and other good works for the community, and his favorite non-work interests are sports and his family.
