2008 Martens Visiting Scholar in Art, Mark Hampson, studied painting at Chelsea School of Art and then printmaking at The Royal College of Art where he was awarded an MA with distinction. Since his first solo show in 1994 he has exhibited widely throughout Europe, the USA, Japan and Korea. He has been awarded several prestigious awards and he is represented in numerous major collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum, The Arts Council of Great Britain, Tokyo Metropolitan Museum, Hyundai Arts Collection, Gyor City Arts Museum, The Osaka Prefectural Government Collection and Tama Arts University. In 1997 he was appointed Senior Tutor in Fine Art, Printmaking at The Royal College of Art; he currently lives and works in London, UK.
