The Markin-Flanagan Distinguished Writers Program presents rob mclennan, the current writer-in-residence at the University of Alberta, reading new poems and from Missing Persons, his novel-in-progress.
rob mclennan is the author of 13 trade poetry collections, and has published poetry, fiction, interviews, reviews and columns in over 200 publications in 14countries and in four languages.
He is the editor/publisher of above/ground press, the long poem magazine STANZAS, and the Ottawa poetry annual ottawater, edited the anthologies evergreen: six new poets, side/lines: a new canadian poetics, and Decalogue: ten Ottawa poets, and runs the semi-annual ottawa small press book fair, which he co-founded.
mclennan is the 2007 - 2008 Writer-in-Residence at the University of Alberta. He comes to Calgary courtesy of an exchange program between the Markin-Flanagan Distinguished Writers Program and the U of A Department of English.
The reading is free and open to the public. A reception and book signing will follow the reading.
