Location

St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 1407 – 7th Avenue NW

Description

Chair of Christian Thought Lectures
The Iwaasa Lectures in Christian Spirituality

Climate change has emerged as the most critical problem facing our planet in the 21st century. What is the role of religion, and especially of Christianity, in this crisis? Religions form the most basic assumptions about who we are in the scheme of things and what we should do. Christians should critique the current view of insatiable individualism in our consumer culture, and present an alternative radically relational view of human life. To do so, we must become ecological and political in our practice.

Presenter/Speaker

Dr. Sallie McFague, Professor of Theology Emerita, Vanderbilt University, Distinguished Theologian in Residence, Vancouver School of Theology
