Environmental Design

Introduction

As a field of study, Environmental Design encompasses the built, natural, and human environments and focuses on fashioning physical and social interventions informed by human behaviour and environmental processes.

Programs

The Faculty of Environmental Design (EVDS) offers a Master of Architecture (MArch.) and a Master of Environmental Design (MEDes.), as well as a PhD Program. As a non-departmentalized, professional graduate-level Faculty, EVDS provides an interdisciplinary teaching and learning environment that emphasizes a cooperative, collegial approach to research, scholarship, creative endeavor, professional practice and outreach. EVDS has a long history and an international reputation in areas related to architecture, environmental design, ecologically-sensitive intervention, and sustainability.
