Articles and story ideas
Do you have a story idea or article that you'd like to submit for publication in Field Notes?
Unsolicited manuscripts are welcomed and encouraged, although
submission is always on speculation and we cannot guarantee that every
submitted article will be published. If you would like to discuss your

Following are some frequently asked questions about submissions
What sort of articles do you accept?
We are always looking for articles on interesting experiences in the MT
Program, projects, research results, accomplishments, observations on
teaching trends, issues in education, etc.
When should I submit an article?
Field Notes is published twice a year. Generally, we need all submitted
articles at least two months before the issue's publication date.

I
nstead of submitting an article, can I submit a story idea for your writers?
Yes, story ideas are always appreciated, but understandably we can only
react to story ideas that meet the criteria for this publication.
Is it all right to include photos with the article?
Yes, we welcome photographs, although these might not be published due
to space or design considerations, even if your article is. Photos
generally have to be of high quality and high resolution to be useable
and must be submitted electronically. If you would like more specific
guidelines for photo submissions, contact MTfield@ucaglary.ca.
How long should my article be?
Most Field Notes articles are 350-550 words.
Will you edit my article?
Yes. We will edit for length, style, grammar, flow etc. For your
reference, the style guide we use is Canadian Press (CP).
Will I get to see it before you publish it?
Yes, but our production schedule will only allow for fact checking.
Will you pay me for the article?
No.
Can I get extra copies of the issue my article appears in?
Yes. If would like a copy (copies) of the issue your article appears in, please let us know and we'll send you some.
