Introduction

The Faculty of Humanities aims to create thinkers who analyze, interpret, and evaluate achievements and situation in many of the world’s cultural traditions. By studying the past and present of cultures through their arts, texts, philosophy, traditions and more, students gain a greater understanding of themselves and the world around them.

The Undergraduate Programs Office provides course and program advising for Humanities students.

Programs

The Faculty of Humanities offers specific programs within each of its 6 departments, which include English, French, Italian & Spanish, Germanic, Slavic & East Asian Studies, Greek & Roman Studies, Philosophy, and Religious Studies.

Collaborative

There are a large number of multi-disciplinary degrees, combined degree programs, minors, and joint programs offered in collaboration with the Faculty of Humanities and other faculties at the University of Calgary. See the complete list of programs and degrees.
