This is NOW!
Every day local, national and international media phone the University of Calgary looking for experts to speak on a variety of topics. U of C Information Technologies has partnered with External Relations to launch an updated, easy to search database designed primarily for media, which gives them direct access to U of C experts.
The database is called Experts Online.
Experts (Experts Online defines an expert as a PhD student or a U of C staff or faculty member) can easily add themselves to the Experts Online database and their information is easy to update. Experts can even request to have their information removed for a certain time period (while on holidays or sabbatical, for example).
By speaking to media, U of C faculty position themselves as an expert to their faculty and university and to other academics/universities around the world. University of Calgary experts have valuable educated opinions in many subject areas and even those with extremely specialized research areas have knowledge and expertise on a wide variety of topics of interest to the general public. Sharing knowledge with media is a tangible example of the University of Calgary’s commitment to return knowledge and value to the community.
If you are a U of C PhD student or U of C faculty or staff member and have not yet registered please follow these steps to create an Experts Online profile:
