2008 JUNO Awards

Richard Sutherland
Music sales have gone down in value by 20 percent and the music industry has lost an estimated $1.3 billion in illegal downloads. Sutherland says these factors along with major labels leaving Canada and easier access to music through satellite radio, iPods and the Internet has lead to a growth in independent music and a diminishing of the mainstream music industry that supports the Juno Awards. Sutherland talks about the relevance of the Junos to this changing Canadian music industry.
