Asteroid-hunting satellite a world first

Canada’s NEOSSat space telescope to discover near-Earth objects and track high-altitude satellites. The NEOSSat (Near Earth Object Surveillance Satellite) spacecraft will provide a significant improvement in surveillance of asteroids that pose a collision hazard with Earth and innovative technologies for tracking satellites in orbit.

A fortified village that pre-dates European arrival in Western Canada and is the only one of its kind discovered on the Canadian plains is yielding intriguing evidence of an unknown First Nations group settling on the prairies and is rekindling new ties between the Siksika Nation and aboriginal groups in the United States.

Novel clinic cuts wait times for kids seeking help

Lisa Kindt and her daughter, Sage, were getting to the end of their rope. It was becoming clear that Sage would need to see specialists and perhaps undergo a series of tests to determine whether she had a learning disability. Ordinarily, that might take up to two years. Fortunately, the Kindts were able to access a novel new clinic operated out of the University of Calgary that cut the wait time down to two weeks.
