![]() | David Keith and his colleagues at the University of Calgary’s Institute for Sustainable Energy, Environment and Economy (ISEEE) are shaping Canada’s approach to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and demonstrating how we can dramatically—and pragmatically—reduce our nation’s global warming impact. “Climate change is our most pressing environmental challenge,” says Keith, director of ISEEE’s Energy and Environmental Systems Group and a professor in the Schulich School of Engineering. “The world will eventually regulate emissions in a serious way.” Keith, a Canada Research Chair in Energy and the Environment, recently made a national “Top 5” list of the most powerful influencers on climate change issues in Canada. He’s also the only academic on the seven-member Canada-Alberta ecoEnergy Carbon Capture and Storage Task Force, which will recommend the best way for Canada to implement technology to capture and store industrial carbon dioxide emissions on a large scale. >> Index |
