Every year, the Department of Art celebrates the end of the winter term by hosting an open house to celebrate the year-long efforts of its students, staff and teaching faculty. This year it takes place on Thursday, April 17 from 3 to 7 p.m.

Visitors will see works in every area of the arts such as sculpture, printmaking, photography, painting, drawing, media arts and mixed media.

This is also an opportunity to find out more about art students—studios, workshops and individual studio areas will be open for visitors. Graduate students will also open their studio spaces and will answer questions regarding their work.

And, of course, if you see something you like, feel free to talk to students about purchasing their art.

The open house also features food and refreshments and a self-guided tour of the Department of Art. The event is free and open to the public. The Department of Art is on the 6th and 7th floors of the Art Parkade. For more information call (403) 220-5251 or visit www.finearts.ucalgary.ca.
