Pirates of Penzance. Thirty eight  talented university students and community members are accompanied by a 16-member orchestra of university performance majors. Tix: $10 for adults, $7 for students/seniors; children under 6 are free. University Theatre.

8 p.m. The Elizabeth Shepherd Trio. Shepherd pushes the boundaries of conventional jazz to create a sound all her own. Her  playful piano and captivating voice evoke funk, soul, blues and samba. Tix: $18 (adults) / $12 (seniors/students). University Theatre.
