Environmental research revealed at open house

Scientists at the University of Calgary’s Canadian Rockies and Foothills Biogeoscience Institute who are studying environmental issues facing Canada, will show off their work at the institute’s annual open house on Saturday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Researchers will be available to talk about their work on landscape management for mountain pine beetles and the influence of large-scale climatic patterns on mountain pine outbreaks; the effect of topography and forest cover on snow accumulation; melt and runoff from mountain regions; and the influence of beavers on the hydrology of a mountain riverine system.
