The U of C will open its doors to share fun and fascinating facts with the community during Campus Fair, which takes place on Saturday, June 14. Bring your family, your curiosity and sense of adventure and enjoy over 60 interactive exhibits, entertainment, food and more. The event runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission and parking are free.

The Nickle Arts Museum joins the Glenbow in celebrating the visual arts in Calgary by participating in a city-wide exhibition. The Big Gift reveals many of the artworks donated from across Canada to the Glenbow Museum in response to Jeffrey Spalding’s appointment as president and CEO. Exhibitions at the Nickle run from June 6 through September 27.

The University of Calgary’s Solar Car Team may have the home-team advantage in this year’s North American Solar Challenge (NASC), after the U of C was chosen to host the finish line for the across-the-continent solar car race for the second consecutive time. Students are confident U of C’s car, Schulich 1, will have what it takes to cruise to victory in the 4,000-kilometre race from Dallas, Texas, to Calgary from July 13 to 22, 2008.

Spend an evening with University of Calgary astronomers at the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory on June 14, July 12, August 9, September 6 and October 4. Bring the family and learn more about stars, planets, asteroids and beautiful Alberta skies. Visitors are advised to dress warmly, and to bring flashlights. Doors open at 8 p.m. and close at 11 p.m. Tickets are $10 per car.
