Conjoint Faculties Research Ethics Board (CFREB)

There are two Research Ethics Boards at the University of Calgary. The Conjoint Faculties Research Ethics Board (CFREB) covers researchers in:

  • Communication and Culture,
  • Continuing Education
  • Education
  • Engineering
  • Environmental Design
  • Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
    Fine Arts
  • Haskayne School of Business
  • Humanities
  • Institutes associated with any of these faculties
  • Law
  • Science
  • Social Sciences
  • Social Work

 

How Do I Apply?

1. If you are an undergraduate or graduate student, be sure to check the Information for Undergraduates or Information for Graduate pages. Some Faculties/Departments have their own website, forms and information to assist you. Not sure, click here:

2. Download Information to Help Applicants, the Application form and consent form template(s).

3. Complete the application form according to the instructions. Prepare all attachments according to the information in the Information to Help Applicants. These will vary according to the study.

4. If you are an undergraduate or graduate student, submit your application to your Faculty/Department Chair. Click here for list of Chairs.

5. If you are academic staff, post doctoral fellow or research associate, submit the original and 2 copies, together with all supporting documentation to Bonnie Scherrer, Energy Resources Research Bldg, 3512 - 33rd St NW.
