U of C claims four APEGGA awards

Several U of C faculty and alumni were honoured recently with Summit Awards® from the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA) this year. Summit Awards are awarded annually to recognize leadership and excellence in the practices of engineering, geology and geophysics, and to recognize the contributions APEGGA members make to the community.

The University of Calgary Child Development Centre was awarded the Environment and Sustainability Award for its cutting-edge and ultra-efficient energy systems. >> more

Dr. Om P. Malik won the L.C. Charlesworth Professional Service Award for his exemplary service to the engineering profession over the last 36 years. >> more

Dr. Ayodeji Jeje was honored with the Excellence in Education Award for his contributions to teaching and learning in the University of Calgary's Chemical and Petroleum Engineering department. >> more

Laura Lucier (BSc‘99) earned the Early Accomplishment Award for her exceptional achievements in a young career that has taken her to NASA's Johnson Space Centre, where she is a mission planner and robotics flight controller with the International Space Station Program. >> more
